Protect and Accommodate
One of the fundamental requirements of a school, in addition to its functionality, is the need to protect its students. To do this, we arranged the building as a separating barrier with two public roads around it, leaving a large patio and playground inside the plot, protected from unwanted views and interactions.
The building seeks the interplay of volumes and shapes to avoid the long prism, with a general and endless view. Together with the use of different colours and materials, which deliver liveliness and joy, they turn it into a cosy place, with appropriate dimensions and spaces for each activity.
The school, developed in two levels, is fully accessible, thanks to a ramp that connects both floors, with wide interior corridors and adapted toilets to achieve a real integration of children with special needs.
